Sloan-C Workshop on Blended Learning

By Keith Bourne
Created Mar 13 2007 - 5:51am

Sloan-C and the University of Illinois at Chicago are now in their 4th year of offering a workshop focused on blended/hybrid learning [0]. As the information indicates, this is the only national workshop dedicated solely to the research, pedagogy and implementation of blended learning. Much of the work and effort concerning blended learning that Sloan-C has been involved with has come out of this workshop. Many of the papers and collaboration that resulted in the Blended Learning: Research Perspectives publication [0] came from the work that started at this workshop. And as you might expect, the workshop will be offered in a blended format, including both the face-to-face meeting and online components thereafter. If you are interested in blended education, this is definitely the place to be this summer.

The workshop started small, around 30-40 educators and has grown to an expected 200 participants this year. Unfortunately, many registrations were turned away last year, so it has been moved to an expanded location to accommodate the growing demand. 200 is all they can hold at the Indian Lakes Resort though, so I would recommend not to wait to sign up if you would like to attend this meeting. The workshop will be held Sunday, June 3 – Tuesday, June 5, 2007.

I hope to see many of you there in person!
