Blended Learning: Research Perspectives

Are university instructors ready for blended learning? What do instructors have to say about becoming a blended learning instructor? I would like to locate current research (2005-2007) on the need for training programs for university instructors who move from face-to-face to online instruction.
Thank you.

Re: Are university instructors ready for blended learning?
Our book chapter in Blended Learning: Research Perspectives talks about faculty development and the change of faculty roles when moving to Hybrid/Blended. Please check it out...
Also, you can find information on our web site on faculty development at:

Good luck!

Re: Are university instructors ready for blended learning?
Unfortunately, many of the instructors go in to online or blended teaching unprepared, and so often they are forced to participate without proper training (I can speak of most of us here in Taiwan). Research on faculty development in this area is scarce, but I may be mistaken. Really, I think there is a great need of research in this area and I think it would make a meaningful project.
